Master Jesreel Marbaniang of Class XI Sc A became the State Level winner of Knowledge Brainstorm Aptitude Test 2018 conducted by Lovely Professional University for the students of Class XI and XII. Cash award of Rs 25,000/- , a certificate and a gold medal were handed over to him by the representatives of LPU in a special programme organized in the school.
The students of APS Shillong performed excellently well in Deepika Children’s League National Scholarship Examination conducted on 29th September 2018. Mr Lokesh Sharma of Class IV secured 1st Rank and Miss Jahanavi Singh of class X secured 3rd Rank in their respective categories. They received cash awards of Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively. Besides 11 other students also received cash awards of different amount for their impressive performance in the scholarship examination. The details are as follows:
Army Public School Shillong joined the nation-wide initiative to assemble solar lamps as part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of IIT Bombay on 2nd October 2018. 150 students of the school learn how to assemble solar lamps as part of the student Solar Ambassador Workshop. They gained skills on assembling of lamp soldering, use of multi meter etc.
The school hosted Rapid Prototyping Camp from 25th – 27th October 2018 under the aegis of Making Tomorrow for Innovation Generation Programme, co-founded by NCSTC, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and INTEL supported by Atal Innovation Mission of NITI Aayog. Students from 35 schools from the states of North East and Sikkim participated in the camp.
The aim of the camp was to create a tinkering environment in schools through introduction of concepts like artificial intelligence, knowledge of the basic of electronics like use of sensors, resistors, circuits etc.
Miss Nishtha Chaudhary of XI Sc B and Master Nenio Chalai of XI Sc A secured 2nd Prize in the Inter School Science Exhibition which was organized by BSF Senior Secondary School as a part of their Golden Jubilee Celebration on 31st October 2018. The theme for the exhibition was Waste Management and Conservation of Resources for Sustainable development.
The school was declared as the Overall Literary Champion in the Inter School Competitions organised by Mawprem Modern Higher Secondary School Shillong from 14 May 2019 to 24 May 2019 as a part of their Golden Jubilee Celebration. The results are as under:-
